Mental Health Programme 2019|2020
We feel that mental health is such an important focus - especially navigating emotionally draining and difficult studies in a foreign country, while also adjusting to adulthood. At the beginning of the year, we put out a mental well-being questionnaire and the results definitely indicated that an LU Social-run programme would help to motivate and support each other.
We are very excited to launch our mental health programme!
Outreach Projects
Valentine's Day Crisis Centre Donation
With the profit we made from the LU Social roses this year, we were able to give much appreciated resources: art supplies, games and some treats, to the children at a Redcross-run Crisis Centre.
Every month Redcross Youth organises a visit to the crisis center where we do creative workshops with the children there. This particular crisis center is not very well funded, and usually houses families temporarily for a variety of reasons - domestic abuse, neglect, financial difficulties, etc. This week we celebrated spring, and had a lot of fun creating and connecting with all their wonderful new resources.

Projects
This is your Project section introductory paragraph. Take this opportunity to give a brief overview of the work you do, and let users know what types of projects they’ll find in the showcase below. Try adding an image or video to spark their interest.
World AIDS Day 2018

Alongside Redcross Youth and LUMFSP, we supported and raised awareness for those living with HIV by wearing our red ribbons. We also focused on HIV health promotion and prevention by encouraging free testing, distributing informative pamphlets and free condoms.
International Women's Day 2019

International Women's Day 2019 was themed 'Balance for Better'. We took the opportunity to highlight discrimination women face daily - gender-based violence, inequalities in education etc. We also took this time to celebrate the strong women in our lives.
EndoMarch 2019

International Women's day on the 8th of March coincided with EndoMarch - a month dedicated to endometriosis awareness. We felt this was important, as it affects so many women, and yet so many people don't know much about it. We hope to have a movie night screening the informative film 'EndoWhat' in the future.
Valentine's Day 2019

International students had an opportunity to anonymously buy roses - along with a note and an embarrassing song - LU Social delivered these love messages on Valentine's Day. All profits went to creative workshop supplies for a local Redcross-run crisis centre.
